Willamette Falls Legacy Project
Winterbrook developed a framework master plan to revitalize Oregon City’s Willamette Falls district. The 22-acre site is flanked by the Pacific Northwest’s largest waterfall and is rich in Native American and Northwest history. New, mixed-use development will replace a now-defunct paper mill. The master plan has broad regional and community support and emphasizes public access to the river that connects with downtown and nearby historical areas, habitat restoration, and cultural and historical interpretation. The City Commission voted unanimously to approve the plan in fall of 2014. The project received a 2014 ASLA Oregon Merit Award for Analysis & Planning.
Winterbrook anticipates working with a world-class design team, Metro and Oregon City to design, permit and build the Willamette Falls River Walk – the first major step in the revitalization effort.
